Head of Payroll - EMEA

Our client a leading Shared Services organisation with its EMEA HQ in Ireland are looking to recruit a Senior Payroll Lead who will have responsibility for a large payroll team servicing over 3000 teammates across EMEA. The candidate will report directly to the Shared Services Director, great visibility with the role with strong growth potential. Responsibilities

  • Lead EMEA payroll function to support the processing of 22 entities in 13 countries for over 3000 employees in the EMEA region
  • Lead and develop a team of about 8, based in Dublin, Ireland
  • Act as the key point of contact and subject matter expert for EMEA payroll in front of internal and external customers (e.g., HR functions, Business Leads in various countries, Business Unit Controllers, M&A Integration, Accounting, Auditors)
  • Maintain good inter-departmental relationships by partnering and communicating with these functions to ensure smooth payroll operational activities
  • Work/partner with Shared Services Director and business partners to ensure that EMEA payroll operations remain aligned with the strategy
  • Maintain policies related to the payroll process and identify areas of non-compliance. Review EMEA payroll process for efficiency
  • Identify and manage projects aimed at standardizing and improving the EMEA payroll process
  • Serve as Payroll Subject Matter Expert for integration of both organically grown and acquired EMEA entities into the COE Payroll team. Function as EMEA Payroll Subject Matter Expert for various global projects and initiatives. Manage SOX management testing process for EMEA payroll.

 

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Strong management and people management skills
  • Self-motivated, high energy, ability to cope with changes, stress and tight deadlines and ideally accustomed to reporting remotely
  • Experience in project/change management
  • Previous exposure to expatriate and/or shadow payrolls for international assignees (highly desirable)
  • Team player and team leader with a strong “Customer comes first” attitude Basic Qualifications
  • University or Bachelor degree (ideally in Business, Economics, Accounting or Finance) or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable experience in an international environment
  • Experience in managing payroll operations for multiple EMEA countries
